I'm Back

Hey, my fellow readers. I know that I have been away from blogging but guess what? I am here to tell the latest news in my life. I somehow lost my camera again and I haven't had time to look for it. Oh, well. Life goes on. Ever since I got back from Spring Break, I have been mad busy. Papers? Check. Research? Check? Philanthropy events? Check. Trips? Preparing!

I have been preparing to perform Mozart's Requiem. For anyone who hasn't listened to a Requiem before, let me tell you it is brutal. I think Mozart's Requiem is the toughest piece I am performing to date. Honestly, I don't recall an instance where I have been winded by the composition. Maybe on a Beethoven piece but I don't believe so. I have practice everyday and I am looking forward to finally performing it in front of a grand audience in Gray Chapel on Sunday. If you are in the neighborhood, you should stop by and check it out. For a sample of the Requiem, go to Youtube. They got some good performances.

Academics- I'm swamped. I turned in my first paper (out of three) yesterday and I am currently working on my second since it is due tomorrow. I knew the day was coming where all of these papers were due in the same week or two. I like being swamped because it always presents the challenge of having to finish the papers on a time limit. I tend to concentrate just that much harder. Right now, I am doing well in my classes so I hope I can continue this upward trend so I can make Dean's List for the first time. By the way, I am doing a Shot-by-Shot analysis of Boyz 'n the Hood which is due Thursday. I am stoked about this paper! That's a first this year.

Getting out of dodge- I try to do this at least once a week. If not, I try to go do something in the Delaware community. I worked at the Common Ground about a week and a half ago. That was fun and I hope I can schedule another time to go before I leave for the summer. Just me helping the community.
I am leaving Ohio Wesleyan for an extended time starting next week. I will be in Boston, attending a Geography conference. This is my first academic conference, I will arrive with no expectations. Otherwise, it may be a letdown for me. I just received the "Annals of the Association of American Geographers." I guess this is a taste of what I will experience for that extended time.

Philanthropy hopping- this is a busy time for all of the sororities and fraternities. Next Friday, I attended Delta Gamma's Anchor Splash. It is always nice to see all of the Greek community come together to support each other. This is a beautiful feeling. I had a good time, chatting it up a bit with everyone. I left Anchor Splash and went to Bowl for Kids' Sake. I believe it was definitely worth my time. I am not a great bowler but hey, it is for the kids' sake (For Big Brothers Big Sisters). I missed Tri-Delts Pasta for Life since I went to Buca di Beppo with the Honors Board, which a lot of my friends are on (experience: priceless) I also missed Beach Bash because of the baseball doubleheader and the Rugby Game- nevertheless, the weekend was fun and constructive. Next up, Greek Awards on April 10. Personal plug: I hope Phi Delt sweeps!

I guess that is it for now. Hopefully, I can find my camera and display some pictures soon. I have class in nine minutes- Film. I better not be late.

Yours,
