Signifying the two week stretch- The Ward 1 Expo

I made it. I am near the end of my second summer as a college student. To me, it is a little bittersweet. I don't really want to leave my parents behind especially at their advanced age but I feel that I need to finish what I started in the first place. I don't really want to leave Parker either. My understanding of the corporate environment in its association with the rest of the world has grown immensely thanks to my internship at Parker. My ability to understand abstract ideas in the job market and how it applies to real world situations is priceless. I will once again miss Parker once I leave Cleveland in two weeks. I have a presentation next week how my experiences and how I have grown from the experience. My family and my job are two things that I will be leaving behind in order to pursue these degrees in hopes of getting a fast start to a career along with graduate school.
This week I went down to Kerruish Park to check out the community expo. I was happy that the expo was back and that I could hang out with people I have not seen in a while. First things first, I visited my neighbor, Ms. Bea for a couple of hours. I am not in touch with most of my neighbors but I am with Ms. Bea. Our relationship goes a long way back. We chatted about life and once it reached 3 pm, I left for a couple of hours for the park. I stayed in the park for about 2 and a half hours.
The expo was a good experience for me. I saw teachers, community leaders, and students that I have not seen in about two years. It was interesting to see that they are still kicking and doing what they love. I saw my next door neighbor who goes to Notre Dame College in South Euclid. We chatted and went about our ways. The expo was like last year's: talked, ate food, brought back food, and looked at entertainment. One of my friends performed on the small stage, performing some version of rap and hip hop. I hear him rap before- he is pretty good. Supporting the community- nothing like it.
I wished I could have stayed longer but after 5 pm I was not feeling up to par. I feel dizzy and nauseated. The perch dinner I had along with the hot weather did me in. I walked to the house, into my room, and rested my worn body. I semi-recovered about an hour later and went back to the park to get some food for the family. They were appreciative even though they were concerned about my health. I got back around 6:30 pm and called it a day because the sun was still directly out.
Two weeks. That is crazy. Well, I am continuing to prepare for the day I leave the nest... again.

Recovering from the sun and hoping to knock out the remaining days,
